About a month ago, the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade. Nearly half the states wasted no time transforming themselves into dystopian forced-birth hellscapes, where human beings are forced to carry unwanted pregnancies by threat of imprisonment. We decided to ask the people who live in these states what the fuck they're thinking. Unfortunately, you will believe what we found. Nine states (AL, AR, LA, MO, MS, OK, SD, TX, and WI) now have total abortion bans. But 6 in 10 people who live there don’t even know. Turns out ignorance is bliss, until you need an abortion. Seven states (AL, AR, LA, MO, SD, TX, and WI) now ban abortion with no exception for rape or incest. 8 in 10 people who live in those states think there should be an exception. 6 in 10 people have no idea there’s currently no exception. Wow. Another triumph for democracy. More than half of anti-choice assholes want to imprison or execute women who get abortions. 1 in 4 think abortion should still be illegal even if the mother will otherwise die. So much for the sanctity of life or whatever. Anti-choice assholes want to control your sex life. 7 in 10 of them think “casual sex” is a major problem. 5 in 10 think banning abortion will fix this “problem.” Fun fact: sexual repression actually causes major societal problems. 6 in 10 anti-choice assholes also want to end the separation of church and state. Good call. Let’s make America more like Iran. Men in forced-birth states have no clue about ectopic pregnancy, a dangerous condition where an embryo implants outside the uterus. The condition can kill the mother if left untreated. 40% wrongly think these embryos can survive to be born. 52% wrongly think these embryos can be re-implanted into the uterus. Unsurprisingly, women do twice as well on these questions. 1 in 4 men in forced-birth states somehow believe, in defiance of all medical science, that a woman who is sexually assaulted can “naturally” stop herself from getting pregnant. What the fuck. 4 in 10 men in forced-birth states think a pregnancy has four trimesters. Hooray for abstinence-only sex education! Most people in dystopian forced-birth states cannot identify the uterus, ovaries, or clitoris on an anatomy chart. No wonder they have a problem with casual sex. Thanks for reading! Sorry to bum you out. If you’re unfortunate enough to live in one of these forced-birth hellholes, 100% of profits from your order on our store will be donated to the National Network of Abortion Funds to help people most fucked over by Republicans in your state government. And for the love of God, don’t forget to vote this fall. Okay, time for some casual sex. —Cards Against Humanity This poll was conducted by Cards Against Humanity LLC from July 24-30, 2022, in partnership with Dynata.
